See real India through Village eyes. Stay in your own Village house as a guest of the community
Award winning, responsible travel. Walking from village to village in the Himalayas, exploring the jungles of central India or relaxing in the warm south, you are always the special guest of the village in a Village Ways holiday.
Holidays that delight guests & benefit hosts
Travelling with Village Ways brings you into welcoming villages in unspoiled regions of India to experience the rhythms of life in very special places. Local guides help you connect and interact with your hosts, and you stay in our unique, village-owned guesthouses. Here you are hosted by communities, enjoy delicious local cooking and experience privileged insight into traditional ways of life.
As we all look to travel in a more sustainable way, Village Ways, a social enterprise, works in partnership with our host villages. They benefit directly from your stay and love to welcome guests. With just small numbers of guests at any time, their traditional, agricultural and economic life continues alongside this low-footprint form of tourism. With Village Ways, your holiday is truly a force for positive change.
With Village Ways you can also book for short stays. If you are looking for a short break for a night or two, you can stay in our very special village guesthouses, owned and managed by the village committees.
Day activities can be planned with our guides who are from these villages and they will be able to suggest options based on your preferences. We think of the guesthouses as ‘village homestays’ – offering a unique opportunity to experience village life, as it is lived today. And these are so much more than typical homestays; as you are hosted by a village, rather than just one family and your visit benefits the wider community.
You connect with your hosts in a special way and enjoy life at the heart of a village, without feeling that you are intruding in anyone’s home. The guesthouses are simple and comfortable, gently reflecting the way your hosts live in their own village houses.

"wonderful sights, views, mountains, birds and food-
the most lasting memories are of the people of these communities who are so welcoming. I can't wait to go back again (and again)."
A very important aspect of these holidays is the aim of sustainable development to keep these communities thriving. This takes a great deal of hard work from everyone involved with Village Ways and it would appear they are now being rewarded for this.
