Itinerary | Day by Day
DAY 1 | Outward Journey
Welcome at Kathmandu airport, road transfer to Dhulikhel (1 1/2 hours), an old city which was used as a trading ground between Kathmandu and Tibet.
Night 1
Overnight at Dhulikhel Mountain Resort, located on an isolated hillock with a magnificent view of the mountains.
Day 2
Road transfer to Solambu Village (4-5 hours).
Night 2 - Night 3 | With the Communities
Spend two nights with the community of Solambu.
Day 4 - Night 8
Walk between and visit the villages of Teksingh and Pasiban and the splendid tented camp at KholaKharaka. You will walk between 4-5 hours each day, in the company of your own guide. It is an out-and-back route, allowing you to spend two nights in each village and one night at Kholakharka, walking uphill to reach the camp and down for the route back. This is a holiday for good walkers, with some long ascents and incredibly rewarding views. Stay in simple, twin rooms in the village guesthouses.
Day 9 - Night 9 | Homeward Journey
From Teksingh you walk to the village of Taar (1 hour) for your return transfer to Kathmandu ( 6.5 hours by road). Overnight Kathmandu hotel.
Day 10 - Night 10
Full day and night to explore the city of Kathmandu.
Day 11
Transfer from hotel to Airport for homeward flight.
Walking to a Himalayan Backdrop
Enjoy enthralling walking, along well-trodden paths and terraced fields dotted with tiny stone temples. Walk across dramatic hillsides through forest, open pastures, past scattered villages and yak sheds. You may cross a wonderful suspension bridge at Chauri Khola stream, visit the historic 600 year old monastery at Taar, and spot barking deer flitting through the trees- all to a backdrop of the towering peaks.
Hillside villages
You walk between three charming hill villages – Solambu, Pasiban and Teksingh, each with its own character, as well as spending a night in the splendid tented camp at Kholakharka. You stay in simple but comfortable guesthouses in the villages and enjoy delicious delicately spiced vegetarian food, grown in and around the communities.
Mystical Sailung
Sailung peak itself is a mystical place, and a holy area for both Hindus and Buddhists. It sits at an altitude of 3,146 metres, with open rolling hills and hundreds of small hillocks. Famed for having the best sunrise in Nepal, with a 180 degree panoramic view of the mountains and a 360 degree view of the surrounding area, it is truly breathtaking. Our camp site at Kholakharka lies just below Sailung peak, just a 25 minute walk away.
